THE RECESSIONAL

 

The obvious choice for the Recessional or Exit of the bride and groom is a rousing version of Mendelssohn's Wedding March blaring out on the organ. However as with all other parts of the ceremony, there are many other wonderful pieces to suit the celebratory mood.

 

Here are a few points to consider:

 

  • You will probably want to choose upbeat and celebratory music. This marks the point where the formalities of the wedding service end and the fun can begin!

 

  • Just as with the Entrance music, think about the length of your chosen piece of music. Ideally the music should be playing until the very last guest has left the venue - this can be several minutes in larger spaces.
 
  • You don't have to choose music with a religious theme. Choose the music that you like.
